How SBR works
The treatment method exploits the cleaning properties of micro-organisms. These are within a sludge layer in the septic system, known as activated sludge. During the treatment phases, the wastewater is mixed with the enriched activated sludge and aerated. The wastewater serves as a source of nutrients to the micro-organisms and is cleaned naturally in this way.
Advantages
Of all systems with technical wastewater aeration the SBR reactors produce the best cleaning performance. In addition, these systems are the most economical to operate.
